专家简介:陈世炳,青年千人,中国科技大学数学系教授,博士生导师。本科硕士毕业于北京大学,于加拿大多伦多大学获得博士学位。先后于美国MSRI和澳洲国立大学数学系从事博士后研究。长期致力于Monge-Ampere方程及其在最优传输和几何中的应用。研究成果多次发表在Adv. Math.、J. Math. Pures Appl.、Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.、SIAMJ. Math. Anal.、J. Funct. Anal.等国际著名期刊上。
报告摘要:
Free boundary arises in optimal transport problem when only a portion of mass is transported. The problem was first studied by Caffarelli and McCann for disjoint domains and then by Figalli, Indrei for domains having overlap. The $C^1, C^{1,\alpha}$ regularity were established in these works, left open the question whether we have smoothness of free boundary for smooth data. We will discuss our recent resolution to this problem, and explain some of the key ingredients in the proof. This is based on a joint work with Jiakun Liu and Xu-Jia Wang.
